Okay so let’s be real. Everyone and they mama have been obsessed with Kylie Jenner’s iconic baby-doll blush look she’s been rocking, at one point or another. I don’t know about you, but a bitch doesn’t have the dough to blow on that fabulous Dior Backstage Rosey Glow Blush everyone speculated was the key. But her makeup artist, Ariel Tejada, recently revealed it was in fact a variation of Sephora blushes.
However, Made By Mitchell took Tik-Tok by storm hunny with his liquid blush, “blursh”. I couldn’t scroll through my timeline without seeing that neon green packaging. Particularly, a baby pink blush, in the shade “Sweet Cheeks”, that mimicked the Dior.
Assuming this was yet another Tik-Tok gimmick, I refused to be sucked in. Until, I noticed an offer of 3 blurshes for £10, including “Sweet Cheeks”, from none other than Mitchell himself. I folded and within 3 days, the anticipation was over and they had arrived.

The packaging is just that bitch- so bold with a fierce, fun, neon green packaging, stamped with the “M” and “Made By Mitchell” logo, in a gothic, medieval font. The lids followed the green theme, as a great embodiment of the brand; being loud and unique. The matte, frosted-glass texture of the tube, not only allows a balance with the vibrant lid, but also retains the sleek appeal through the simplicity of just “Blursh" printed on the front, with the logo and further information on the back.

lol allow the packaging, the products have clearly felt the wrath of my busy make-up bag.
Upon first application, the colour, “Sweet Cheeks”, was just as vivid and rich as the packaging. The blush held a very sheer and light consistency, similar to the Rare Beauty blushes. For me, liquid products, such as highlighters or blushes, are best when they are patted onto the skin with my ring finger, for a more natural look, but this wasn’t the case here. I instantly noticed the colour fade and the product lifting my make-up, leaving somewhat of a grey cast- it was really giving more of a Casper than a Kylie. But, worry not, it was nothing some powder blush couldn’t fix. After this experience, I didn’t really find myself reaching for this product again, but I thought to give it a second chance with a different application method.

Once again, I spread it onto my cheeks, but instead used a blush brush to stipple the product on- which made a world of a difference. My existing make-up didn’t lift and the colour remained, although I must say, it wasn’t as pigmented as I’d expected. It’s safe to say a lot goes a long way here, as the cool, baby pink was only prominent after a few layers. Throughout the day, I noticed the product fade further into a more sheer pink glow, despite using a setting spray. Nevertheless, the product delivered the Kylie Jenner baby-doll blush look we all longed for. This is for sure one for the baddies on a budget. Mitchell is always gushing about how universal the Blurshes are, which I saw for myself, as "Sweet Cheeks" gave my classic, natural, nude lip a bubblegum pink sheen that complimented the baby pink blush.
I’d definitely recommend taking this with you wherever you go, to touch up your blush and maintain the bright colour. I’d also recommend pairing this with a warm-tone bronzer, for a natural gradient. Given the cool-tone nature of the shade, “Sweet Cheeks”, a cool-tone bronzer clashed with it personally, and didn’t harmonise as well as it did, in comparison to a warmer bronzer. Although, Made By Mitchell offer an exceptionally wide range of shades and colours to suit all skin colours and bronzers, as regularly demonstrated on Mitchell’s Tik-Tok account @Madebymitchell.
All in all, ratings to Mitchell for such an innovative brand that include all the colours and shades of the rainbow- for eyeshadow looks, blushes and lipsticks.
