The beautiful touch of life

This opus has most definitely been selfish in clasping the place as my favourite piece of art yet. ‘The creation of Adam’ - a fresco painting featured in the Sistine chapel ceiling, brought to existence by yours truly, Michaelangelo throughout the High and Italian Renaissance. One of the many from the gorgeous gallery known as the ‘Sistine ceiling’, located in the Vatican. I’m in awe with its concept of being the first visual representation of the touch that gave life to man kind. Infatuation with how Michaelangelo has sculpted (my) our interpretation of how human-kind began.

The delicacy of distance between God and Adam’s fingers is iconic to art history, alongside God drifting on an ambiguous platform on the coast of earth. This acts as a metaphor of life, God- the creator, is at reach and with us, yet far within the barriers of heaven and earth.  Accompanied by wingless angels and - through speculation- what could be identified as the virgin Mary and baby Jesus before their time. God is portrayed in humbleness with the simplicity of his atire honour of angels and yet to be biblical figures accompanying him in essentially the birth of man-kind.
